Amaravati: Over 880 private travel buses are off roads in Andhra Pradesh from Saturday in view of COVID situation.

Apart from the condition that they should operate with only 50 per cent seats to maintain social distance, people are also not showing interest to travel by private buses.

Consequently, the private operators voluntarily withdrew the services by informing the government in advance that they would suspend the services from Saturday.

The private operators are likely to get tax exemption for the period the buses did not ply.
