Karimnagar: Members of private degree and postgraduate colleges staged a protest at Telangana Chowk here on Monday, demanding that the State government release long-pending fee reimbursement amounts.
College managements, which had announced closure of colleges across Telangana from Monday, protested under the banner of the Telangana Private Degree and PG Colleges’ Managements Association (TPDPMA). They raised slogans demanding immediate payment of dues.
Representatives said they were facing severe financial difficulties as the government had failed to clear reimbursement dues for the last four years, making it impossible to continue operations.
They warned that colleges would not reopen until all pending bills were settled.
