Mahabubnagar: After agreeing to allocate 20 percent of beds for Covid treatment of the poor, private hospitals in the district have now agreed to offer seven days Corona treatment without oxygen at Rs.30,000 and the seven days treatment with oxygen and other requisite tests for Rs.60,000 in the allocated beds, said Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud.
The Minister held a meeting with Indian Medical Association representatives, Private Hospitals Managements here on Friday.
During the meeting, the private hospitals managements agreed to offer seven days Corona treatment at Rs.30,000 and seven days Corona treatment with oxygen for Rs.60,000 in the 20 per cent beds allocated for treatment of the poor, he said, addressing media persons.
The Minister thanked the private hospitals managements for their support to extend Corona treatment to the poor. Last week, the Minister had also held a meeting with diagnostic centres association and made them conduct CT SCAN at Rs.1999.
The new rates for Corona treatment to the poor came into effect immediately. SVS Hospital management had offered Corona treatment to a patient from Chinna Darpally and the total bill was calculated at Rs.1.20 lakh. Following the private hospitals managements meeting with the Minister, the SVS Hospital management slashed Rs.1 lakh from the bill and the patient was asked to pay balance Rs.20,000.
The Minister directed District Medical and Health Officer Krishna to coordinate with private hospitals in case of any requirement for oxygen cylinders and other medicines and address the issues on priority.
He wanted the private hospitals managements to set up an exclusive WhatsApp group and update the details pertaining to bed availability, oxygen and other drugs availability etc.
He directed officials to make necessary arrangements in extending quality treatment for patients from Shadnagar, Narayanpet and other neighbouring places in the wake of Corona cases.
IMA district unit president Dr. Rammohan said the private hospitals managements were prepared to offer best treatment to poor at affordable charges during the pandemic times.
