Private travels bus overturns on NH44, 20 passengers suffer injuries

A private travels bus heading from Hyderabad to Arunachalam overturned near Bharat fuel station in Bhootpur, Mahabubnagar, after its tyre reportedly burst. Twenty passengers were injured, with three shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment. No deaths were reported

Mahabubnagar: A private travels bus, which was heading to Arunachalam from Hyderabad, overturned near Bharat fuel station, Bhootpur, resulting in injuries to 20 passengers.

The injured have been shifted to Government General Hospital, Mahabubnagar, for treatment. Officials claimed there were no deaths in the incident, but as the condition of three passengers was serious, they have been shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment.


The incident occurred on Thursday midnight, when Sri Krishna Private Travels Volvo bus (Nagaland registration NL 02B 5551) was heading from Hyderabad to Arunachalam.

The bus tyre got busted and the vehicle lost control. Despite the driver making all attempts to gain control, he could not, and the bus overturned near the Bharat fuel station in Bhoothpur. There were about 35 passengers in the bus, reports said.

Several passengers sustained serious injuries in the accident and have been shifted to Mahabubnagar Government Hospital. Sharanappa, Laxmidurga and Maheswari, natives of Guntur, suffered injuries in the incident.

Among the others injured are Sunitha from Sangareddy, Akshitha, Santhoshi, Venkatram, Ravi Kumar, Sunitha Kumari, Pramod, Sanosh of Hyderabad, Premalatha and Ramesh from Lingampally, Maheswari from Gandipet, Sujatha, Rajendra Prasad, Hemalatha from Miyapur, Saiteja from Rajamahendravaram and Prabhu from Vellore. They are all undergoing treatment at GGH, Mahabubnagar, reports said.

Woman suffers injuries after RTC bus overturns at Narayanpet

In another incident, a woman suffered injuries after a TGRTC bus bearing registration number TS06UC9526 overturned at Makthal in Narayanpet on Friday morning. The woman suffered injuries to her leg in the incident. More details are awaited.
