Priyanka Chopra wishes ‘Varanasi’ co-star Mahesh Babu: To going on the ultimate adventure
Priyanka Chopra wished her Varanasi co-star Mahesh Babu on his birthday, sharing a behind-the-scenes photo from the film’s Africa schedule. The makers also unveiled Mahesh’s first look as Rudhra, while SS Rajamouli praised his character and announced the film’s 2027 release
Mumbai: Global star Priyanka Chopra wished her ‘Varanasi’ co-star Mahesh Babu on his birthday with a special post on social media. PeeCee took to her official handle and dropped a behind-the-scenes picture with Mahesh Babu from their shoot diaries.
The click uploaded by the ‘Barfi’ actress on Sunday had her sitting next to the birthday star. From the looks of it, it seems like the photo is from the Africa schedule of the much-anticipated drama.
“Happy Birthday Bob. Here’s to going on the ultimate adventure with #Varanasi! @urstrulyMahesh (sic),” PeeCee’s wish for Mahesh Babu read. Marking Mahesh Babu’s birthday, the ‘Varanasi’ makers treated the movie buffs with the first look of the Tollywood star as Rudhra from the eagerly-awaited film. The picture featured Mahesh Babu sitting in a relaxing pose on a bamboo raft.
In another pic released by the makers, Mahesh Babu stood amidst the wilderness looking at the vast landscape that surrounded him. Posting the first look on social media, the makers captioned the post, “Fierce isn’t his only shade… RUDHRA in #Varanasi. @urstrulyMahesh (sic).”
The director of ‘Varanasi’, SS Rajamouli, also penned a sincere note about Mahesh Babu’s character Rudra. “Director @ssrajamouli: “ Rudhra was born to fulfil a purpose much larger than himself. He carries a destiny he did not ask for. He is witty, he is vulnerable, and he is fierce. That is what Mahesh brought to him. Anyone can play fierce. Very few can play fierce and fragile in the same breath,” he shared.
The ‘RRR’ maker added, “These frames are from our Africa schedule, and the land gave us something no set could. Shooting around Kilimanjaro and in the Masai Mara, I was stunned. There were mornings I felt even the 1.43:1 IMAX frame could not hold what was in front of us.” ‘Varanasi’ is slated to release in the cinema halls on April 7, 2027, during the festival of Ugadi.
