Hyderabad: Prof. C Raghava Reddy, Head, Centre for Knowledge, Culture and Innovation Studies, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been nominated as a Member of the Advisory Committee for the Impact Assessment and Public Policy Division at the National Innovation Foundation-India (NIF), an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

This recognition highlights Prof. Reddy’s expertise in science-technology-society interfaces and institutional mechanisms for inclusive development. These areas are central to CKCIS’s mission of exploring how knowledge, culture and innovation intersect to address societal challenges, a press release said.


With expertise in Science, Technology and Society Studies (STS), Sociology of Disability, and Sociology of Organisations, Prof. Reddy has made significant contributions through research on agricultural knowledge production, disability inclusion, and technology-society interfaces.

He has published extensively in reputed journals such as Sociological Bulletin, Gender, Technology and Development, and Indian Anthropologist. His key works include analyses of disability discourse, women’s labour in plant tissue culture, and social constructivist perspectives on crop sciences.
