Prof Kodandaram demands arrest of Sigachi management

Prof Kodandaram demanded the arrest of Sigachi industry management over the Patancheru blast that killed 56 workers. At a round table, he accused police of inaction and criticised the government for delaying compensation even 70 days later

Sangareddy: Prof M Kodandaram, who attended a round table organised by public organisations on the struggles of Sigachi industry blast victims’ kin in Patancheru, demanded the government to arrest the Sigachi management holding them responsible for the accident that claimed 56 lives and left many workers injured.

He said that the police were complacent in taking action against the management. Kodandaram said that the police must carry out a transparent investigation to identify the accused. He asked them to produce the persons who were responsible for the incident before the court.

Kodandaram said that they will put a collective effort to get justice to the kin of the victims. He said that the compensation was reportedly delayed to the kin even 70 days after the incident.
