Projects in Nirmal, Mancherial receive copious inflows

Mancherial/Nirmal: Irrigation projects continued to receive copious inflows following rains in upstream areas for the third day on Tuesday.
According to an irrigation department press release, Sripada Yellampalli Project had inflows of 4.32 lakh cusecs. The water storage was now 16.531 tmcs against its total storage capacity of 20.175 tmcs. Surplus water was discharged by lifting 40 gates. The outflow was 3.90 lakh cusecs. Farmers downstream were requested not to venture on the banks of Godavari river.
Meanwhile, Kadem Narayana Reddy Project saw inflows of 51,014 cusecs. The project presently has 6.935 tmcs against its gross storage capacity of 7.603 tmcs. Excess water was released downstream by lifting six gates. Outflow was 71,637 cusecs.
Many other projects such as Kumram Bheem of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, Mattadivagu in Adilabad district and Swarna belonging to Nirmal districts witnessed inflows.
