Protesting students call for public support as Jantar Mantar agitation over public exams continues

New Delhi: Protest organisers on Saturday appealed to supporters to send food to the Jantar Mantar protest site, saying supplies were needed for those continuing the agitation over alleged irregularities in public examinations.

In a post on X, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), one of the groups spearheading the protest, said, “Food Alert | Jantar Mantar Protest. We need food at the protest site right now! Please send food to the Tolstoy Road entrance, Jantar Mantar.” The protest, which began on June 6, has entered its second month, with demonstrators maintaining a round-the-clock presence at the site.

The protesters have been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and irregularities in the CBSE’s on-screen marking process, besides seeking wider reforms in the conduct of public examinations.

Previously, the protesters had alleged that security personnel had barricaded the area, disrupting the supply of food and other essential items to the protest site.

The agitation has drawn students and supporters from different parts of the country, with volunteers arranging food, drinking water, medicines and other essentials for those staying at the protest site. Organisers have periodically appealed for public support, seeking contributions of food and other supplies for participants camping at the site.
