Hyderabad: Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy on Wednesday challenged TPCC president and Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy to contest against him from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency. He offered to quit politics if Revanth Reddy wins in the election against him from the constituency.

“I will quit my Minister’s post and Revanth Reddy should quit his TPCC post. Let us both contest from Malkajgiri Parliament constituency and let people decide who is good for them,” he dared. He was responding to allegations levelled by the TPCC president during the latter’s Rachchabanda programme at Muduchintalapalli in Medchal-Malkajgiri district, where he termed the Minister as a land grabber.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here, Malla Reddy pointed out that the Central government gave a clean chit to the Malla Reddy Group of Educational Institutions in Parliament in response to accusations made by Revanth Reddy. He said he had established the educational institutions even before entering politics and had nearly 600 acres land that is not assigned, occupied or water bodies lands. “I have legally purchased the land and obtained all permissions for constructing the buildings. I am not hiding my lands in my pockets and Revanth Reddy can check their authenticity on government websites,” he said.

The Minister slammed Revanth Reddy for making baseless allegations over development of Muduchintalapalli. He stated that developmental works worth Rs 62 crore were taken up in Muduchintalapalli mandal headquarters. “Revanth Reddy represented Kodangal Assembly constituency earlier and the development in Muduchintalapalli is better than Kodangal,” he said. He also demanded that the Congress leader to explain the development under Congress in Telangana region during its 10 year regime in undivided Andhra Pradesh. He offered to resign from his Ministerial post, if the TPCC president proves that any other State was implementing as many welfare schemes as Telangana government.

MLA KP Vivekanand, MLC Shambipur Raju, TRS general secretary and former MLC M Sreenivas Reddy and others were present.
