Warangal Urban: Stating that the civic body was taking all steps to create more urban lung spaces including the Monkey Food Courts to offer a fun atmosphere to the city dwellers, Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao has directed the officials to take steps to provide amenities including the benches to sit at the Monkey Food Court under 22 division limits in the city.
Speaking after laying foundation for the construction of a walking track at an estimated cost of Rs 9.09 lakh at the Monkey Food Court on Friday, the Mayor said that the palm trees lying on the court should be decorated with colors for the use of the children facilitating them to swing, and also directed the officials to set up the high-mast lights near the Monkey Food Court besides setting up the sign boards at the Court.
“We need to create a serene and joyful atmosphere at the Court so as to attract the visitors,” he said and directed Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO) Sunitha to plant the fast-growing fruit bearing and flower plants in the food court spread over one acre of the land.
Later in the day, the Mayor has launched the construction works of the CC road and drain in the 26th division at Dolphin Gully with an estimated cost of Rs 46 lakhs. Speaking on this occasion, Prakash Rao said that funds are being allocated for the development of various divisions under the GWMC limits and work is in progress in all divisions.
