Hyderabad: With just three months left in the current financial year 2020-21, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar instructed the officials of Excise and Commercial Tax departments to put more efforts in the ensuing three months in order to achieve greater tax realisation for the State government.

He asked the employees to work even harder in the coming year and requested them to wholeheartedly re-dedicate themselves towards ensuring economic buoyancy of the State.

The employees of Commercial Tax and Excise departments called on the Chief Secretary to extend new year greetings at BRKR Bhavan on Saturday. On this occasion, the Chief Secretary congratulated the officials of both the departments for working together as a cohesive, well-knit team and for helping secure higher revenues for the State.

Somesh Kumar pointed out that the State government took a historic and unprecedented decision of creating 131 posts in different categories as well as sanctioned 14 new Prohibition and Excise stations in the Excise department.

Similarly, around 161 posts were created in different categories and also sanctioned 18 new Commercial Taxes Circles in the Commercial Taxes department. Further, many posts were upgraded increasing promotional avenues.

“This departmental reorganisation will facilitate career progression for the employees, providing them a greater job satisfaction. Consequently, the process of departmental promotions also has been initiated,” he added.
