Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar inspected IT Hub works in Khammam on Thursday and directed the contracting agency to speed up the works and take measures for completion as per schedule. He inspected the elevation, office, seating and meeting hall works.
Speaking to the media later, he said the work in the IT Hub under construction at Yellandu crossroads in Khammam was moving at a fast pace. Engineering officials and contractors are told to execute works day and night if needed.
He said the IT hub being built with Rs 25 crore was expected to be ready by Dasara. The twin-towered IT Hub would help to create employment to the skilled youth in Khammam and surrounding districts.
Many graduates were already given appointment letters by the companies that were going to set up their branches at the IT hub in Khammam.
Telangana which was making strides in IT development stands at second place in terms of IT exports that reached Rs 1.28 lakh crores.
The Minister expected IT companies to come to Khammam as the government was promoting the IT industry in tier-II cities. Ajay Kumar told officials to speed up parking and fountain works on the premises of IT Hub.
Corporators Kamarthapu Murali, Chava Narayana Rao and others were present. Later, Kumar expected spoke to the district officials and reviewed the rain situation and asked the officials to take up sanitation works in the villages affected by cyclonic rains.
The Minister also asked the officials to take up assessment of loss caused by cyclonic rains in the district. Meanwhile, at Bhadrachalam the river Godavari was increasing and the water level reached 22 feet during the evening hours, informed the officials.
