Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao called upon youngsters to question Rahul Gandhi for the Congress government’s alleged betrayal of unemployed youth through its “Youth Declaration”.

He reminded Chief Minister Revanth Reddy that Rahul Gandhi had visited Musheerabad before the Assembly elections and made several promises to unemployed youth and students. However, after winning the elections, the Congress leader abandoned them, Rama Rao alleged.

The BRS working president addressed a meeting of BRS leaders from the Musheerabad constituency here on Saturday.

Rahul Gandhi assured Telangana’s youth that the Congress government would provide jobs, announce a job calendar and stand by them if they faced injustice. However, after the elections, neither Rahul Gandhi nor the Congress government had fulfilled those commitments, he charged.

He also alleged that the Congress government has not created any significant new employment opportunities since coming to power.

“It has merely completed recruitment processes initiated by the previous BRS government and is claiming credit for the same,” Rama Rao said.

BRS cadres should be vigilant against irregularities in SIR process

The BRS working president urged the party cadre to remain alert during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state. He cautioned party workers against possible irregularities in voter registration and verification by both the Congress and BJP.

During the meeting, he interacted with Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by the party.

“All the BLAs should ensure that not a single genuine voter is removed from the electoral rolls,” Rama Rao said.

He noted that though the BRS had lost the Assembly elections, the party had registered an impressive performance in Hyderabad.

Given the BRS’s strength in Hyderabad, there could be attempts to remove the votes of party supporters, sympathisers and party workers during the revision process, he said.

Criticising the Congress government, the BRS working president said that in the last two-and-a-half years, it had failed to undertake any development work in Hyderabad.

“The BRS government constructed flyovers, double-bedroom housing projects and roads, but the Congress government is carrying out demolition drives through HYDRAA,” Rama Rao said.

Membership drive to begin next month

The BRS working president announced that the party would launch its membership enrolment drive from next month. The entire membership process would be conducted digitally and booth-wise training programmes would be organised for workers, he said.

Along with membership enrolment, party cadres would be trained to highlight the Congress government’s failures, injustices and anti-people policies, he stated.
