Hyderabad: Following instructions from Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat, ‘Operation Chabutra’ was conducted at various places across the commissionerate and youngsters were detained on charges of roaming aimlessly on roads during lockdown hours on Friday.
They were counseled in the presence of their parents or guardians and warned not to venture out without valid reasons. The LB Nagar police conducted the operation and caught several youngsters and teenagers at Nagole and surrounding areas, while the Meerpet police conducted the operation in Sai Nagar, Lenin Nagar and other areas. The Balapur police caught about 60 youngsters.
“We verified their antecedents and warned them. Further verification is being done. No cases have been booked,” police said.
