Hyderabad: Police officials saved many lives and their efforts were commendable during the Covid-19 pandemic, said Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat.
Commending the efforts and services of Rachakonda Police during the pandemic, the Commissioner distributed grocery kits to home guards at his office in Neredmet on Tuesday. Don Bosco partnering with Nestle India has donated 1,030 grocery kits comprising essential items including rice, pulses, oil, etc.
Speaking to the presspersons, Bhagwat appreciated the gesture of Don Bosco and Nestle India in donating grocery kits worth around 11 lakh with each kit consisting of items worth Rs 1,100. He thanked Don Bosco and Nestle India for recognising the efforts and services of Rachakonda Police during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bhagwat specially mentioned that Don Bosco which has children homes in Hyderabad has been assisting police by providing temporary shelter to the victims rescued during Operation Smile and Operation Muskaan.
Fr Noel Maddichetty, Director, Bosconet said that they have distributed food earlier and around 6 million kits across the country have been distributed by Don Bosco and Nestle India since the pandemic. Senior police officials from Rachakonda and representatives of Nestle India were also present.
