Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police rescued 10 children who were found working at Plaster of Paris manufacturing companies in Kalanagar and Pasumamula village in Hayathnagar and arrested two persons who employed them.
Acting on a tip off, the police raided Sri Pavan Putra Plaster Company and Laxman’s Plaster Company at Hayathnagar and found the children working in hazardous conditions.

“The owners brought the children from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and employed them in contravention to labour laws. They were paid meagre wages,” Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat said, adding that a case was booked against E Jagan Mohan Reddy of Sri Pavan Putra Plaster Company and Laxman of Laxman’s Plaster Company at the Hayathnagar police station.
In another case, the Anti-Human Trafficking unit of the Rachakonda police rescued five minor girls from a company located at Hayathnagar on Saturday.
The man Channabathina Ravi (30) owner of Shiva Traders Company had employed the girls at his company for cleaning empty liquor bottles by paying Rs. 25 paise for each bottle.
