Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police are geared up for the forthcoming New Year celebrations to avert any untoward incident and ensure an incident-free events.
Accordingly, this year focus will be on drug usage and officials will be monitoring areas where drugs are potentially sold and prevent any narcotic abuse at the venues.
Collecting Intelligence is required to gather inputs on the drug flow and mechanism is put in place to curtail the drug menace. Sniffer dogs will be deployed at important events as it serve as a point of prevention. If partygoers know that sniffer dogs will be at the event, they might avoid bringing drugs or illicit substances,” said G Sudheer Babu, Rachakonda Police Commissioner.
Officials are also making arrangements focusing on road safety, prevention of eve teasing, anti-sabotage measures and prevention of mischief by anti-social elements. They will conduct special drives to book cases for triple riding, over speeding and rash driving apart from ensuring free traffic flow at important locations.
There will be SOT teams and She Teams at the events.The police officials instructed organisers to obtain prior permission for both indoor and outdoor events.
They instructed organisers to cover entire event, premises including parking places under CCTV surveillance and necessary parking arrangements.
“Organisers should deploy women security guards who are identifiable and brief them properly to take care of women and children. They must ensure no obscenity and nudity in any of the performances,” the commissioner said.
The Rachakonda police said the sound system is permitted beyond 10pm only in indoor closed premises and strictly upto 1 am, with noise level not exceeding 45 decibels.
