Hyderabad: In the last six weeks, the Rachakonda SHE Teams caught 31 persons for harassing women, at various hot spots across the commissionerate. Officials have booked 36 cases, including 20 FIRs against people during this period.

Those caught, attended the mandatory counseling sessions conducted by trained counselors at the Police Commissioner’s camp office at Alkapuri cross roads in LB Nagar.

Apart from this, several persons including minor boys were caught during decoy operations at Choutuppal, Bhongir and Vanasthalipuram. Till date, the teams also prevented 95 child marriages across the commissionerate. Officials said one child marriage was averted at Masaipet village of Yadagirigutta mandal in the last six weeks.

Awareness programmes were conducted in rural areas seeking to create awareness on social evils including child marriages, which is yielding good results, they said.
