Hyderabad: Radha Smelters, a manufacturer of TMT bars, is planning to expand its capacity from 4 lakh tonnes per annum to 10 lakh tonnes per annum by 2025, with an investment of about Rs 100 crore.

The company plans to expand its capacity at its Chinna Shankarampet unit in Medak District of Telangana. The company is eyeing a larger market share through this expansion.

The company launched a new product range 550D LRF (Ladle Refining Furnace) TMT (Thermo Mechanically Treated) Bars, suitable for critical infrastructure projects and high-rise buildings. These bars are resistant to earthquakes due to their soft pearlite core and can bear seismic and dynamic loading. The company has invested Rs 75 crore in this new product.

The company is aiming to achieve sales of Rs 1,500 crores in the FY 22-23. The turnover in FY 2020-21 was Rs 530 crore and for FY 2021-22, it will be Rs 1,000 crore.

With the launch of several large skyscrapers, the company believes there will be high demand for its 550D LRF TMT Bars. The steel consumption of Telangana State is estimated at 3 million tonnes per annum and is growing.
