Hyderabad: The School Education department, in collaboration with Sri Satya Sai Annapoorna Trust, decided to provide Ragi java to students of Classes I to X in all government and local body schools thrice a week for the academic year 2024-25.

The trust will extend fortified Ragi and Jaggery powders to all government schools as per the collaboration.

In a proceeding to DEOs, School Education director EV Narasimha Reddy on Thursday said the raw materials will be provided at the mandal points and asked the mandal educational officers to take steps to transport the material to the school points.

The cook-cum-helpers of the mid-day meals have been asked to prepare the Ragi java by mixing Ragi and Jaggery powders in the boiling water. The schools have been asked to serve Ragi java thrice a week when eggs are not provided as part of the mid-day meal.
