Railway employee’s organs donated after being declared brain dead
Srinivas Marri, a 38-year-old railway electrician, fell from a train while on duty and was declared brain dead. His family donated his kidneys, liver, heart, and lungs under the Jeevandan organ donation initiative, saving multiple lives.

Hyderabad: Family members of 38-year-old Srinivas Marri, a railway employee working as an electrician, who was declared as brain dead by the doctors, have donated his organs to needy patients.
On December 13, while carrying out some mechanical work on top of a train, Srinivas lost his balance and fell from a height of 20 feet. He was shifted to Railway Hospital and later to a private hospital.
After emergency treatment, his health condition did not improve and he was declared brain dead on December 21. His wife, Marra Rathna Kumari, made the decision to donate his organs to needy patients.
Kidneys, liver, heart and lungs were donated to needy patients as part of Jeevandan organ donation initiative.
