Railway Protection Force to host 26th All India Police Band Competition in Hyderabad
The South Central Railway’s Railway Protection Force will host the 26th All India Police Band Competition in Hyderabad from December 16 to 20. Around 1,500 performers from police and paramilitary forces across the country will take part.

Hyderabad: Railway Protection Force of the SCR is organising the 26th All India Police Band Competition at RPF Training Centre, Moula-Ali, from December 16 to 20, with B Shivadhar Reddy, Director General of Police, as Chief Guest for the opening ceremony.
This event, introduced in 1999 and organised by the States/Union Territories/Central Para-Military Forces on a rotation basis, has now been allotted to SCR’s RPF.
Around 24 teams will compete with 1500 performers from States including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Assam Police, Assam Rifles, Bihar, BSF, Chhattisgarh, CISF, CRPF, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, ITBP, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, and Central Para-Military Forces.
The competition will be held in three categories, viz., Brass Band, Pipe Band & Drum, and Strathspey & Bugle Calls. The best conductor in Brass Band as well as Pipe Band events will be awarded a pure silver medal. Public band displays will be held at Charminar on December 17 and at the Telangana Secretariat on December 18.
