Khammam: The Central Government has expressed its readiness to construct a rail over bridge (RoB) between Gandhi Chowk and Kaman Bazaar in Khammam city if the State government completes the necessary land acquisition process and hands over the land to the SCR.

In response to a petition submitted by MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, the SCR GM Sanajy Kumar Srivatsava said that the RoB proposed at level crossing number 104 was sanctioned by the Railway Board as a 50-50 cost sharing project with the State government in the year 2020-21.

However, the State government was not ready to share the project cost, following which the Railway Board sanctioned the RoB with full railway funding. The RoB construction involves land acquisition in a densely populated built-up area.

The matter was being pursued with the Telangana government. After completion of the land acquisition, the bridge construction work would be taken up by the Railways, Srivatsava told the MP in a letter dated November 28, 2025.
