Hyderabad: In yet another eye-catching and extremely useful addition to the facilities being added for the public at Tank Bund and the PV Narasimha Rao Marg, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is installing rainproof benches.
These benches, being installed around trees, will protect the trees apart from providing seating for visitors to the popular spots. A total of 30 benches will come up along the Tank Bund and the PV Narasimha Rao Marg, earlier known as Necklace Road.
Municipal Administration Urban Development principal secretary Arvind Kumar tweeted on Monday with two photographs of the new installations, saying a few of the benches that were installed were instantly popular.
“30 of such rain-proof benches are planned to be installed on Tank-Bundroad and PVNR Marg by @HMDA_Gov.. this one was tested & was instantly popular. Apart from providing much needed sitting arena, it will also help protect trees @KTRTRS,” he tweeted.

The Tank Bund is already spruced up with several facilities added for visitors, right from new benches, metal art seating facilities in aesthetically made shelters, designer lamp posts, railings and so on.
