KARIMNAGAR: Unseasonal rains coupled with strong winds and lightning hit many places in the erstwhile Karimnagar district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

While paddy stored in purchasing centres was soaked in rain water, trees and electric posts were damaged due to the strong winds in many places.

According to reports, 25 sheep were electrocuted in Madaka, Odela mandal of Peddapalli district. A shepherd Velpula Rajakomuraiah had left his sheep in an open place, surrendered by iron fencing. An electric wire passing through the area snapped due to strong winds and fell on the fencing. The sheep, which accidentally touched the iron fencing, died, reports said.
