Rains and thunderstorms likely in Hyderabad on Thursday night: IMD
The IMD Hyderabad has forecast light to moderate rain or thunderstorms with gusty winds in Hyderabad on Thursday evening or night. Waterlogging, traffic congestion and slippery roads are likely. A similar weather forecast has also been issued for Friday
Hyderabad: Parts of Hyderabad are very likely to witness light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds towards Thursday evening or night, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad said in its Thursday afternoon forecast.
“The day will be generally cloudy. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely to occur in the city towards evening or night. Mist or hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during morning or night,” the forecast said. The IMD Hyderabad has also issued a similar forecast for Friday.
In its impact assessment, the IMD Hyderabad said that it expects water pooling on roads and in low-lying areas at some locations, drainage clogging, traffic congestion at many places, and wet and slippery roads.
Meanwhile, independent weather tracker from Hyderabad, T Balaji, in his forecast said, “Extremely humid day ahead, so conditions are highly unstable. Dry weather till late evening. Isolated to scattered intense thunderstorms are expected during night or overnight hours.”
