Rains bring down mercury in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Several areas in the city saw light to moderate rainfall on Wednesday, providing much needed respite from the heat. According to the India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad, the maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday in the city was 37.6 degree Celsius, but towards late afternoon, most of the areas in the city saw rain with thunders.
The highest rainfall recorded in the city, according to the Telangana State Planning Development Society (TSPDS), was 32.8 mm recorded at its automatic weather station (AWS) at JP Nagar Community Hall at Miyapur. The lowest rain was recorded at the AWS in Safilguda at 0.5 mm.
The minimum temperature recorded was 25.6 and IMD forecasts a similar minimum temperature for a week from now.
The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36-38 degree Celsius over the next few days, with rain and thunder showers expected to occur towards evening.
