Raja Singh booked for provocative speech in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A case was booked against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Goshamahal legislator T Raja Singh on charges of making a provocative speech and singing offensive songs during the Sri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra on Sunday at Shahinayathgunj.
According to the police, the legislator during a speech made some provocative statements against a particular group and also sang some offensive songs. Based on a complaint, the police booked a case and invoked Sections 153A, 295A, 504 and 505 of Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, the Sultan Bazaar police booked two cases against organizers of the Sri Ram Navami processions for playing DJ systems and obstructing traffic, thereby violating the conditions of the permission issued by the Hyderabad Police on Sunday.
The first case was registered against Raja Singh and a few of his followers for allegedly creating nuisance by playing DJ systems and parking vehicles on the road, obstructing free flow of traffic on the route. The other case was registered against Dr. Bhagwanth Rao, president of Bhagyanagar Sriram Navami Utsava Samithi and his followers for similar violations.
The cases were booked under Section 188 of IPC and Section 21/76 of CP Act.
