Hyderabad: After the BJP’s strong performance in recent elections in West Bengal and Assam, Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh criticised the Telangana unit for celebrating victories in other States instead of focusing on strengthening the party locally.
In a video message, he questioned the commitment of State leaders and asked how long the BJP would remain out of power in Telangana. He urged leaders to spell out a clear timeline for forming the government in the State.
Raja Singh also took aim at celebrations held by Telangana BJP leaders over the party’s success in West Bengal. He said such celebrations would have little meaning if the party continued to struggle in Telangana. The MLA had earlier quit the party in July last year, protesting against the appointment of N Ramchander Rao as the State BJP chief.
Referring to internal issues, he called on some leaders to set aside personal differences and work collectively for the party’s growth. He said the BJP could come to power in the State only if N Ramchander Rao was given a free hand to function, with direct coordination with the central leadership. He also stressed the need for the party to acknowledge the contributions of senior leaders and grassroots workers and take their feedback seriously.
