Hyderabad: BJP MLA T Raja Singh’s foot-in-the-mouth remark that bulldozers were ready in Uttar Pradesh to raze down houses of people who do not vote for the saffron party in the ongoing Assembly elections evoked sharp criticism from TRS and other Opposition parties. In a tweet, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said: “Just when you think they can’t stoop any lower, yet another amazing comedian pops up. If you don’t vote for BJP, Yogi will demolish/bulldoze your house says this BJP MLA/legislature floor leader from Telangana.(sic).”

Just when you think they can’t stoop any lower, yet another amazing comedian pops up 😆

In a short video released on Tuesday, Singh said: “I want to make it clear to those traitors who don’t want Yogi to become the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister. Yogi will identify them after the elections and they must know what bulldozers are used for. They must chant Yogi… Yogi… or else they will have to run from Uttar Pradesh.”

Responding to Rama Rao’s tweet, Raja Singh on Wednesday reiterated his threat that people who are opposed to Yogi Adityanath will have to face the music, that they will be identified and their houses razed to the ground. “After Yogi Adityanath became UP Chief Minister, he cracked the whip against ISI agents, terrorists, land grabbers and thieves. He completely controlled gundas in UP. Using bulldozers, Yogi took the land that was encroached by grabbers and gave single BHK flats to poor people in that land,” he said, in a video clip.

He clarified that he made the statement against people who were opposed to Yogi Adityanath and Hindus and exuded confidence that the BJP will get a thumping majority and form the government in UP. “Action would be taken against traitors and anti-national elements,” he reiterated.

Meanwhile, CPI (M) State Secretary Tammineni Veerabadram demanded that the police immediately arrest Raja Singh for his remarks, while Telangana Fishermen’s Congress Chairman Mettu Sai Kumar said Raja Singh had lost his balance and was making baseless remarks. The BJP MLA’s remarks amount to violation of election rules, he said.
