Hyderabad: Taking a indirect jibe at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Congress MLA from Munugode Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy slammed that individuals, who were not involved in Telangana agitation and had no ties to the Congress party, were holding key positions in the State.

“It hurts me. As I am in a political party, I am unable to speak more,” he said after unveiling a book chronicling the 25-year musical journey of Eapuri Somanna here on Thursday.

Rajagopal Reddy alleged that, as in the past, Andhra contractors were looting the State in the guise of development. He also expressed concern over growing corruption and announced that a war would be waged on behalf of unemployed youth, students and others.

“I will be after people who are misusing power and looting lakhs of crores. Do not test our patience and do not presume it to be our incompetence. I have no fear,” Rajagopal Reddy warned.

The Munugode MLA also criticised the conditions being imposed on poor people to avail themselves of benefits under the Indiramma Housing scheme.

He said bills were being delayed midway through house construction. In some cases, beneficiaries were denied bills if they owned an old auto or tractor, even though those vehicles had been taken away by finance companies.

“To grant Rs.5 lakh for a house, 500 rules are being imposed, but one man is looting lakhs of crores,” Rajagopal Reddy said. eom
