Hyderabad: Former Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah countered Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiam Srihari, accusing the latter of hypocrisy and betrayal. He criticised Srihari for his contradictory statements, where he claimed there would be no bye-elections while also stating that the BRS would fail to secure its deposit in the event of a poll. He challenged the defected MLA for an open debate on his contribution for Station Ghanpur’s development.

In a statement, Rajaiah accused Srihari of benefitting from BRS activists’ hard work and then turning against them. He questioned Srihari’s contribution to the constituency’s development, during the BRS regime. He pointed out that even after defecting to the Congress, Srihari had failed to secure any funds or meaningful progress for Station Ghanpur.

“Both the BRS and the Congress loyalists are eagerly waiting for the bypolls to teach him a lesson,” he said. He rebuked Srihari’s claims of corruption during BRS regime and questioned what is the latter’s share as he was always sitting with the then Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

The BRS leader mocked Srihari’s claims of challenging the bypolls in court and labeled him a political snake for his opportunistic behaviour. He pointed out Srihari’s failure to develop Station Ghanpur during his tenure as MLA and an Education Minister. Instead, he said the defected MLA obstructed release of water from Devadula project during the previuos Congress government.
