Hyderabad: Telangana taekwondo players Rajender and Sumani impressed in the recently-concluded British Open Taekwondo Championship in London.
The 42-year-old Rajender won a gold medal in the senior men’s poomsae category, a silver in kyorugi and two bronze medals in the team poomsae categories. 32-year-old Sumani won a gold medal in the women’s poomsae in the under-40 category.
Sports Authority of Telangana State chairman A Venkateshwar Reddy felicitated both the athletes for their achievements in the event which was held on March 12 and 13. Rajender also holds a record in the Guinness Book of Records in team category in full contact kicks.
