Hyderabad: Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy has yet again reiterated that the Congress high command had promised him a Cabinet berth and said he was clueless about the AICC leadership’s plans.
The Congress MLA stated that he does not long for any positions and claimed that his public standing does not depend on holding any office.
“However, if the Congress high command offers me a Cabinet berth, it will augur well for the party and the government,” Rajgopal Reddy said during an informal chat with media persons here on Tuesday.
The Munugode MLA further stressed that if the Congress had to win the next elections, it would need leaders like him, who fought for separate Telangana. “The responsibility of identifying leaders with mass appeal lies with the government,” Rajgopal Reddy maintained.
Clarifying that he does not have any differences with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the Congress MLA said he had a brief chat after meeting him in the Assembly lobbies on Monday.
The Congress MLA also dismissed his lunch meeting with BRS working president KT Rama Rao in the Assembly as an informal meeting. “We just discussed past politics and it was an insignificant conversation,” Rajgopal Reddy said.
