Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s assertion that he would remain in office for the next 10 years continues to provoke sharp reactions—both from within the Congress party and among the public. While criticism from Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy has drawn significant attention, it has also sparked polarised responses.

Dr Mahipal Yadav, an X user, posted: “Yes, Rajgopal Reddy daring and true comments. Revanth Reddy cheating unemployed youth…” In contrast, user Harsha_Official countered: “Without Revanth Reddy Congress would not have been at least in opposition…”

The handle ‘Fight for Telangana People’ wrote: “Under Revanth Reddy’s leadership Congress lost Malkajgiri MP Constituency and all MLC elections…”

Another user commented: “Congress lost Malkajgiri constituency for which Revanth Reddy was incharge and won Bhongir constituency for which Rajgopal Reddy was incharge.”

X user Gopinath added: “The issue should be discussed internally and this is the problem with Congress leaders. Without Revanth Reddy, would Congress come to power?”

Meanwhile, defending the Chief Minister’s remarks, AICC Secretary A Sampath Kumar said there was nothing inappropriate in Revanth Reddy’s statement.

“Revanth Reddy had disclosed the people’s expectations. Rajgopal Reddy’s cabinet berth issue will be handled by the party high command,” he said.
