Rajiv Rahadari property owners seek reduced road width for SCB elevated corridor
Property owners on Rajiv Rahadari urged the State government to limit the SCB elevated corridor road width to 100 ft instead of 200 ft. Promissory bonds used for land acquisition consent have further sparked concern among affected residents.
Hyderabad: Property owners affected by the proposed SCB elevated corridor on State Highway-1, Rajiv Rahadari, demanded that the State government restrict the road width to 100 ft instead of 200 ft. The demand comes amid serious concerns over the extent of land required and the impact on properties linked to the proposed elevated corridor.
Rajiv Rahadari Property Owners’ JAC, comprising property owners whose properties are set to be affected on Rajiv Rahadari as part of land acquisition for the elevated corridor, met Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on the issue. They appealed to him to avoid immense damage to properties due to the proposed road width of up to 200 ft for widening.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Rajiv Rahadari Property Owners’ JAC chairman Telukunta Satish Gupta said a maximum width of 112 ft would be sufficient for widening the road for the elevated corridor. “In fact, most of the radial roads planned to improve connectivity from the Hyderabad city core areas to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) are of 100 ft width only.”
The JAC members, he said, clearly explained to the Minister that Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills, Road No. 1 in Banjara Hills and Kukatpally main road were effectively managed with 100 ft roads despite being significantly busier than Rajiv Rahadari road.
“We are expressing our strong concern that the proposed road widening width of 200 ft would not only affect more than 1,000 properties but also cause significant financial loss and hardship,” he said.
Senior citizens dependent on rental income for the past five decades may face loss of their livelihood, Gupta added.
The Minister, according to the JAC, responded positively and assured that he would convey their demand to the officials concerned.
Promissory bonds spark concern among Rajiv Rahadari property owners over land acquisition consent
Hyderabad: The revenue authorities of Medchal-Malkajgiri obtained consent from property owners to acquire land as part of the land acquisition process for the SCB elevated corridor on Rs 20 promissory bond papers in Rajiv Rahadari.
The issue of promissory bonds sparked tension among property owners in Rajiv Rahadari, with residents raising concerns over the bonds’ implications and their effect on property-related matters.
Property owners said the issue led to growing unease in the area, as discussions continued over how the promissory bonds were being used and what they could mean for those holding property in Rajiv Rahadari.
After a few property owners signed the promissory bonds, the matter came to light a couple of days later.
Rajiv Rahadari Property Owners’ JAC chairman Telukunta Satish Gupta convened a meeting with all the property owners and discussed the issue of the promissory bonds with a senior advocate. He made an appeal to the property owners not to accept the promissory bonds.
