Hyderabad: Actor Ram Charan will be the chief guest at a special event organised by the Telangana government today (June 26, 2025) at Shilpa Kala Vedika, Hyderabad, to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The event is part of the government’s mission to create awareness among the youth about the harmful effects of drug use. Ram Charan’s presence is expected to encourage young people to stay away from narcotics and make healthy life choices.

Officials believe that celebrities like Charan can have a strong impact on public behaviour. “He’s a role model for many, especially youngsters. His support can send a powerful message,” said one of the organisers.

The Telangana government has been running several programs to tackle drug abuse, but with Ram Charan’s participation, this campaign is likely to receive greater attention and reach.

On the professional front, Ram Charan is currently working on Peddi, a rural action drama being made on a pan-India scale. The film is set to hit screens on March 27, 2026, coinciding with the actor’s birthday.
