Ram Reddy wins bronze in 800m at South Asian Senior Athletics Championship

M Venkat Ram Reddy from Kurnool clinched a bronze in the men’s 800m event at the fourth South Asian Senior Athletics Championship in Ranchi. This victory adds to India’s medal tally, with Reddy previously winning a 'golden double' in Junior Nationals

Hyderabad: M Venkat Ram Reddy of Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh) settled for a bronze in the men’s 800m event at the fourth South Asian Senior Athletics Championship at Birsa Munda Stadium in Ranchi according to M. Narayana Rao , Chairman, Selection Committee  Andhra Pradesh Athletics Association .

The Andhra athlete clocked 1 minute 52.03 seconds in the final held on Sunday, contributing to India’s medal tally.

Ram Reddy, who bagged a ‘golden double’ in the recent Junior Nationals, is mentored by SAI athletics coach G. Subba Rao.

A.V. Raghavendra Rao, Joint Secretary of the Athletics Federation of India,  K. Madhu Sudhan Rao, President of the Andhra Pradesh Athletics Association (APAA), and D. Nageswara Rao, Chairman of the Planning Committee of APAA, were present.
