Ayodhya: The joining date of newly appointed Ram temple trust CEO Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra (retd) will be discussed and finalised on Friday, while the organisation is also considering changes to its Trust Deed to remove ambiguities without altering its basic constitution, general secretary Govind Dev Giri has said.

Mishra, who was appointed the trust’s executive officer by its board, arrived in Ayodhya from Delhi on Thursday and attended meetings with trust members.

“Today our meeting was introductory. He should be familiar with the work, and we should also get to know his working style. That was the objective,” Giri told reporters on Thursday.

“As far as the joining is concerned, we will sit with him tomorrow and finalise it. However, we will request him to join as soon as possible,” he said, adding that the CEO’s responsibilities would also be discussed.

Newly appointed treasurer Mahesh Bhagchandka also reached Ayodhya and has joined the trust, Giri said.

“Mahesh Bhagchandka has joined as treasurer and cleared all the pending bills. CEO Jeetendra Mishra will join shortly,” he said.

Giri said Mishra and Bhagchandka were taken through the trust premises and briefed about its functioning, expectations and the scale of work involved.

“The entire day was spent doing this because when a new person joins, the scale of the work is so vast and its depth is so great that it takes time to explain everything to them,” he said.

Giri said discussions on the division of responsibilities among the newly appointed members would also be held on Friday.

On changes being considered in the Trust Deed, Giri said the exercise was aimed only at removing ambiguity.

“Some things are stated twice, and some provisions have ambiguities, meaning their exact interpretation is not immediately clear. Only those things have to be changed,” he said.

He said the exercise would be carried out under the guidance of trust member and senior lawyer K Parasaran.

Giri also said the trust was working to strengthen its festival traditions and preparations had begun for the celebration of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on Friday.

“From the day after tomorrow, during the Shringar Aarti, devotional verses will also be sung, and the tradition of Pad Gaan will begin,” he said, adding that special arrangements were also being planned during the aarti.

Acknowledging that the trust faced several challenges, Giri said there was considerable work to be streamlined and improved.

“We have a lot of work to put in order and improve, and it will take some time. However, with determination, while experiencing the grace of Lord Ram and keeping faith in Him, we will move forward with this work,” he said.

“We are confident that once again, even greater trust among the people will be built than what already exists,” Giri added.
