Ramagundam sees highest woman missing cases

While 69 rape cases were recorded, 254 outrage modesty cases were reported.

Peddapalli: Crime rate in Ramagundam Police Commissionerate limits saw an increase from 5,462 cases in 2019 to 6,271 cases in 2020, recording a rise of 809 cases this year. According to the annual crime report 2020, the highest of 3,520 cases were registered under IPC as against 1,951 cases in 2019.

Out of 6,271 cases, two robbery, 119 house burglary, 235 thefts, 28 murders, nine C homicides, 19 rioting, 47 kidnaping, 67 rapes, 31grave hurt, 820 simple hurt, 464 cheating, 10 CB of trust, 77 attempt to murder, 250- 304A IPC fatal, 294- 337,338 IPC non-fatal, 80- 279 IPC non-injury, 3,520- SLL 199 and other IPC-cases were registered in the commiossionerate in 2020.


While 69 rape cases were recorded, 254 outrage modesty cases were reported. Besides 17 other cases, 40 each of rape and outrage modestly cases were booked under POCSO Act. On the other hand, highest number of women missing cases was reported this year. Out of 388 missing cases in 2020, 276 were women followed by 90 men, 15 boys and 7 girls. However, 263 women were traced.

With Ramagundam coal belt area being a safe zone for PDS rice smuggling to adjacent States like Maharastra and others, police have registered 100 cases against 243 persons for transporting PDS rice illegally. A total of 4,189.96 quintals of rice worth Rs 54.68 lakh was also seized. A record Rs 14.80 crore was collected as vehicles fines by implementing e-challan system and 7,84,060 cases were registered. A total of 249 persons died and 505 injured in 572 road accidents in 2020.

35 rape, 20 POCSO cases registered in Jagtial

Jagtial: The overall crime rate in Jagitial district has increased in 2020. There was an increase of 1,078 cases when compared to previous year. A total of 5,303 cases were reported this year as against 4,225 cases in 2019 and 3,789 in 2018, said Superintendent of Police Sindhu Sharma while presenting the annual crime report to media at a press conference on Wednesday.

Out of 5,303 cases, 901 cases were registered during the period of lockdown, she informed. A total of 35 rape cases were recorded while 20 cases were booked under POCSO Act. 17 cases of cheating and false promise cases were also registered in 2020. With a large number of youths from the district migrating to gulf countries in search of employment, the police had also focused on cheating cases arising out of the Gulf region and registered nine cheating cases against eleven persons, she informed.

About illegal transportation of PDS rice, she informed that they have arrested 181 persons in 114 cases and a quantity of 36.06 lakh quintal of PDS rice was seized.

About 160 people died in 362 road accidents in the district. As many as 2,783 open drinking cases were registered while 1,129 drunk and drive cases were recorded this year. A total of 3.38 lakh traffic violation cases including 36,398 spot, 2, 94, 820 camera, 6,732 speed laser gun, and 47 social media cases were registererd.
