Hyderabad: Stating that there are no permanent friends or enemies in politics, MLC L. Ramana welcomed senior leader T. Jeevan Reddy to join the BRS, amid speculation over his possible entry into the party.
Ramana’s remarks assume significance following reports that Jeevan Reddy, who recently resigned from the Congress, is considering joining the BRS.
He said leaders tend to remain in parties where they receive due respect and asserted that Jeevan Reddy, given his understanding of public issues, would be accorded due recognition in the BRS. He added that anyone joining the party would be treated with respect.
Emphasising the party’s approach, Ramana said the BRS would continue to function as a platform for public service, where leaders are recognised based on their commitment to public causes rather than personal or family affiliations.
He also stated that he would continue to work with discipline, adhering to the directions of the party leadership and abiding by its decisions.
Ramana made the remarks while distributing Chief Minister’s Relief Fund cheques to beneficiaries at his residence on Saturday.
