Hyderabad: The Ramgopalpet police recovered a bag containing Rs 1.2 lakh in cash that was accidentally left behind in an autorickshaw by a passenger who was rushing for his father’s surgery in a private hospital.

The incident came to light after Sai Kumar lodged a complaint on May 18, stating that he forgot the bag carrying cash meant for medical expenses while getting down from the auto near the hospital.

Police examined CCTV footage, traced the vehicle, and contacted the auto driver identified as Venkataiah, who returned the bag with the entire amount. He was later felicitated for his honesty.
