Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy district Zilla Parishad Chairperson T Anitha Harinath Reddy on Monday directed district industries officers to take necessary measures to provide loans for eligible applicants to set up small-scale industries. Participating in the Zilla Parishad Standing Committee meeting, she urged the officers to help those evincing interest to set up small-scale industries by arranging loans for them from the banks. She made the request while reviewing development activities in villages.

Referring to the construction of 2BHK flats in the district, she asked authorities to expedite the construction work so that the houses can be handed over to beneficiaries at the earliest. Anitha Reddy wanted authorities to take measures for constructing rain water harvesting pits under the Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) on a large scale apart from extending financial aid to the self-help groups.

The Standing Committee reviewed the way online classes are being conducted to students of the government schools. She elicited more information from officials about the arrangements being made for the students, who are not having access to the smart phones, to attend the classes. On Covid-19 situation, she requested health department officials to conduct more awareness among villagers about wearing face masks and frequently washing hands to control the spread of the virus.
