Mancherial: A rangoli and sakinalu preparation competition evoked good response with many women folks taking part in the event on the premises of former MLA G Aravind Reddy in Mancherial on Tuesday. The event was held to mark Sankranti festival under the aegis of Hemamalini, the wife of Aravind Reddy.
Hemamalini said that the event was organised to protect the tradition and culture of Telangana State. She opined that Sankranti festival was a special occasion for women to prove their mettle in drawing rangolis. She thanked girls and women for making the competition a success. She expressed gratitude to Mancherial Municipal Vice-Chairperson G Mukesh Goud for gracing the occasion.
While P Shilpa won the first prize, G Lavanya bagged the second prize and J Bhagyalaxmi clinched the third prize. Hemamalini and other dignitaries Gone Indira Devi and Gaddam Shailaja Reddy presented prizes to the winners.
ICDS organiser Atthili Saroja, Councilors K Chaitanya Reddy, Maheshwari, Sunitha, Sumathi, Annapurna, Laxmi and TRS town president Tirumala Mudiraj, leaders Satyapal Reddy, Arjun, Kishan and Rajita Ramesh were present.
