Rare international honour for Hyderabad martial artist Shaswat Kumar
Hyderabadi martial arts expert Hanshi Shaswat Kumar received the World Martial Arts Pioneer Award in Germany and was inducted into the International Hall of Fame for the 10th time, recognising his global contributions to karate and martial arts education.

Hyderabad: It was a proud moment for Hyderabad-based martial arts exponent Hanshi Shaswat Kumar, who received the World Martial Arts Pioneer Award from Prof. Soke Hanshi Dr. Thanh Winter-Luong, President of the Kabudo Karate Federation and Kabudo Martial Arts Institute, Germany.
The award was presented in recognition of his contributions to the global growth and promotion of martial arts, particularly through his work with the Senkoukai Karate system.
On Sunday, the 36-year-old was also inducted into the International Hall of Fame for the 10th consecutive year. The honour was conferred by a coalition of global martial arts organisations, including the International Martial Arts Dragon Tiger Thich Thanh Tam School and Federation, Council of Professors and International Senior GrandMasters, Universal Martial Arts Brotherhood, Marsal University Martial Arts, and the Academy of Martial Arts Science, Japan.
Shaswat has been recognised by various international bodies for his consistent contributions to martial arts education and his pioneering role in developing a globally acknowledged independent karate style.
He has now received the International Hall of Fame Award ten times, from countries such as Indonesia (2), Vietnam (5), Iran, the United States, and Germany.
