Hyderabad: Shrivalli Rashmika Bhamidipaty shocked top-seeded Hanna Chang in the first round of the WTA Tour W75 Sumter tennis championship in South Carolina on Thursday.

The Hyderabad girl notched up an impressive 3–6, 6–3, 6–3 win after being down 1–2 in the final set.


In doubles, Rashmika and her American partner upset second seeds Ayana Aoli and Dalayna Hewitt of the USA 7–6(6), 6–4 to enter the quarterfinals.
