Rashtrapati Nilayam closed for public visits from December 11 to 25
Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum will remain closed for public visits from December 11 to 25 as President Droupadi Murmu arrives for her annual southern sojourn. Authorities are preparing the premises, deploying animal catchers and taking up sanitation activities

Hyderabad: The Rashtrapati Nilayam, located at Bolarum in Secunderabad, the official retreat home for the President of India, will remain closed from December 11 to 25 for public visits, according to an official statement from Rashtrapati Nilayam on Wednesday.
According to officials, as part of the annual winter southern sojourn, which is a decades-old tradition, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is expected to stay in Rashtrapati Nilayam for at least one week along with family members.
A week ahead of the President’s arrival, the Rashtrapati Nilayam authorities will give a facelift to the main building, where the President of India will stay.
Snake, monkey, and dog catchers will be deployed on the sprawling 90-acre premises of Rashtrapati Nilayam to keep the area free from wild animals. Secunderabad Cantonment Board Sanitation wing authorities are expected to take up garbage lifting at R P Nila till the President of India leaves the premises.
“Visitors have to follow social media handles to know the status and updates on the visitors’ announcement of Rashtrapati Nilayam,” said the official statement.
