Hyderabad: Ravi Kumar Bunga took charge as Chief General Manager, BSNL, Telangana Telecom Circle, on August 3.
An officer of the Indian Telecom Service (ITS) 1991 batch, he is an accomplished telecom professional with a distinguished career spanning over 33 years in DoT and BSNL.
A postgraduate in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, Ravi Kumar Bunga began his professional journey with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Chennai, before joining the Indian Telecom Service.
After a series of postings, he assumed charge as CGM, BBNL, AP State, on deputation in 2021 and led the implementation of the BharatNet Phase-II Project under the State-Led Model, connecting 11,254 Gram Panchayats across AP with 55,000 km of aerial OFC.
As Principal General Manager (BharatNet), he played a key role in extending dark fibre connectivity to 396 sites under the 4G Saturation Project, primarily covering remote and hilly regions of the Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) district.
During his tenure at the AP Circle Office, Ravi Kumar Bunga also served on several high-level advisory and policy committees at the Circle Office, BSNL CO and DoT levels.
