Sangareddy: Dismissing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s allegations as blackmail tactics to stop them exposing his failures, former Minister T Harish Rao said that he had never encroached on any farmer’s land, irrigation land or government land.

Responding to the Chief Minister’s allegations after participating in the inauguration of a temple at Masanpally in Andole mandal on Thursday, Harish Rao said he had bought 13 acres of land from farmers by getting it registered through Dharani.

Revanth Reddy had alleged that Harish Rao had encroached on land near Ranganayaka Sagar, to which the former Minister responded saying it was Revanth Reddy who had a history of encroaching land.

Welcoming the Chief Minister to carry out a survey in his presence, he said he was ready for transparent survey to clear the doubts of people.

Accusing Revanth Reddy of resorting to blackmail politics, Harish Rao said he or BRS would not stop questioning the Congress government until they implemented the six guarantees that they had promised during the election campaign. He said Revanth Reddy was also filing false cases against BRS working president KT Rama for questioning the government’s failures.

Stating that the government had failed completely in procuring the paddy, Rao said Civil Supplies Commissioner DS Chauhan had announced that they would buy 70 lakh metric tonnes contradicting the statement of Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy who announced that they would procure 90 lakh metric tonnes.

Traders had bought 20 lakh metric tonnes much below the MSP offered by the government, he said, adding that he was not confident that the government would buy the remaining 70 metric tonnes.

Stating that Congress made nine promises during the Warangal declaration before elections, he said Revanth Reddy had failed to implement any of them. Let alone keep promises, the Congress was trying to take over lands of poor tribals in the name of pharma villages, he added.
